NDS demands action against CEO Prasar Bharati
8/25/2021 10:43:28 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 25: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) has expressed strong dismay over the neglect of All India Radio (AIR) Jammu where Dogri culture, language and literature have been ignored systematically under the nefarious designs of a non-Dogri knowing Programme Head who claims to have the patronage of Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shashi Shekhar Vempati.
In a statement issued here today, the president of the Nami Dogri Sanstha, Advocate Harish Kaila said that even after raising the matter of neglect of Dogri culture besides series of corruption activities prevailing in AIR Jammu with CEO Prasar Bharati, no action was initiated against the guilty.
"It proves beyond doubt that Vempati himself encourages corruption and illegal acts'', Kaila alleged while referring to his five electronic representations sent to CEO and Vigilance Organization of Prasar Bharati on January 6, February 15, March 2, March 17 and June 28, 2021.
Kaila claimed that despite pointing out illegal appointments made at AIR Jammu in his representations, the CEO Prasar Bharati and his entire administrative staff chose to keep mum for unknown reasons . Even Chief Vigilance Officer of the Organization maintained a stoic silence, the NDS president said. He said that instead of enquiring into the fraud in CBS Jammu and illegal way of booking casual staff/announcers, the erring officer was promoted and made programme head.
"A non-Dogri knowing having never been transferred outside Jammu for the last 30 years except nearby Kathua, this current programme head in collusion with others was throwing all rules and regulations to winds", Kaila alleged while pointing out that even during Covid 19 pandemic, non-musical persons, (some above 65 years age), were booked and paid handsomely for doing music related work in the music section of AIR, Jammu.
Kaila, while appealing to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister to look into the matter, demanded stern action against the guilty, including CEO whose ``criminal silence'' was ample proof to suggest that he was promoting and patronizing corruption.
