Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Aug 25: While there are many Government of India schemes which are being made to reach the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, but the irony is that the execution of such schemes are not being met in their applicability to suit and benefit the people for which such schemes are forwarded here.
One such instance has recently come up in district Rajouri at Sunderbani where a stadium is being constructed for the youth to take part in various sports. Though the scheme and the project is quite worthy that would benefit the youth of the area, but the land earmarked for the construction of the stadium, as alleged by the people of Sunderbani, is at a far-off place out of the reach of the common people which would leave the stadium for no use to anybody.
The stadium is being mooted to be constructed in Panchayat Nala Makol of tehsil Sunderbani, district Rajouri which includes four important villages viz, Nahoti , Barnara , Nallah and Makol.
“This stadium is touches the boundary of Reasi and it won’t benefit other villages,” said one of the villagers at Barnara.
Besides, the construction of the stadium is being envisaged in the remote periphery of the village which is all likely to deny access to the youth of the other villages of tehsil Sunderbani. “We appeal to the district as well as the Jammu administration to look into the matter and acquire some better area of land in the middle or the centre point of tehsil Sunderbani so that youth from all villages can approach the stadium and get the benefit of the stadium,” said another villager.
The people of the area were also of the opinion that such stadium be set up at Govt Middle School which has a sprawling 60 kanals of land and can be the best alternative for the youth who can throng the venue for various field and game exercises.
The people of Sunderbani in this regard have prepared a memorandum of the demands for the stadium and submitted to DC Rajouri Vinod Kumar Kundal who reciprocated with the assurance to the people that matter would be taken up at appropriate forum and decision will be taken in this regard.
People have expressed great satisfaction on his assurance and have also appealed to Divisional Commissioner Jammu to take the cognizance of the matter and get the needful done in the best interest of the youth of the area and the spirit of the game.
