JAMMU, Aug 25: Innerwheel Club Jammu in a program ceremonised Dogri Parv "Minjra" here .
The members sung Dogri Suhag while the function was presided over by Dr Santosh Gupta under the Presidentship of Jyoti Dutta, P.P Reva Raina elaborated the activities of Club whereas Vice President and Retired Government Principal Rattan Prabha besides explaining about Minjra Parv participated in Suhag alongwith Other members including Club Secretary Manisha Sharma, Kusum Kesar and other members of Club were conscipicuos of their participation.
Rattan Prabha said special types of Dogri food are prepared by the girls in the kitchen on the Minjar festival, in which the main ones are babru, tandoori roti, puri, timbru ki chutney etc.
On the Minjar festival, girls take the roads in a respectful manner and flow into the water source, baoli, glasses or clean water in the river etc. Girls and women gather and distribute food to each other, along with Dogri Geeta and Bhajans are sung by the girls. She prays to God that she always keeps happiness in her family. Welcoming Members Club Secretary Manisha Sharma greeted all participants and hope Club would perform its best under the Presidentship of Jyoti Dutta, Rattan Prabha gave vote of thanks. |
