No COVID death, Jammu records surge, major drop of positive cases in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 30: After witnessing one death each for the past three days, there was no report of any fatality though the number of COVID positive cases has recorded surge in Jammu during the past 24 hours. However, the Kashmir valley recorded major improvement and recorded 75 positive cases against yesterdays 145. There was also no new case of mucormycosis today in the Union Territory (UT), an official spokesman said this evening. He said 105 new positive cases have been reported in the UT during the past 24 hours against yesterdays 169. Out of new cases 30 were in Jammu, six more than yesterday while in the Kashmir valley the number was 75 cases against 145 recorded yesterday. He said 117 more COVID-19 patients have recovered--- 31 from Jammu Division and 86 from Kashmir Division. Srinagar district continued to record highest number of corona positive cases 48 against yesterdays 65 followed by Badgam nine, Kulgam six, Baramulla four, Kupwara three, Pulwama and Ganderbal two each. There was no report of any case in Anantnag, he said. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir police recovered Rs 2,45,900 from 2620 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines, rules and SOPs regarding Covid-19. |
