Kishtwar: Open main-hole poses threat to commuters, MC least bothered | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Sept 6: The Municipal Council Kishtwar has failed to address the problems faced by the people of Kishtwar town. The Council seems least bothered about the safety and security of the people. As per the details available with Early Times, the open main-hole in the middle of Jamia Masjid road poses a serious threat to the daily commuters who pass through this every busy market daily. Speaking to Early Times, social activist and president Public Awareness Front Kishtwar Shakir Siddiqui said, “Kishtwar Municipality is a hollow structure. The open main-hole in the heart of the town exhibits the callous attitude of the Council and its lack of concern towards people of Kishtwar.” He said, “The open main-hole near Markazi Jamia Masjid has punctured the claims of the Kishtwar Municipal Council.” “Government had upgraded Kishtwar Municipal Committee to Municipal Council nearly two years ago- but till date Executive Officer has not been appointed,” he said. He urged the government and the administration to take the developmental review of the Kishtwar Municipality and make the helmsmen accountable. |
