Nowshera, Sept 9: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with NGO, CMC Santhome Social Service Society organized a 13 days Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDP) on ‘Dairy Farming’ for 30 Self-Help Group Members in Danoka village of Nowshera block in Rajouri district. During the course of the program, training on various important topics viz., Scientific Dairy farming, Feeding, Management & Diseases Control Practices, Milk Production and Value Addition etc. was imparted to the SHG members by qualified officials and scientists from Animal Husbandry Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri. Exposure Visits to various demonstrative units as well as to KVK-Rajouri were also organized for benefit of the participants under the supervision of Dr. Vikas Khajuria, VAS from Animal Husbandry Department. The valedictory event of the program was attended by Kanav Sharma, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, Dr. Arvind Kumar Isher, Chief Scientist, KVK-Rajouri, Dr. Fazal Hussain Soze, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Antar Singh, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Arvind Panjgotra, AMO and Shri Vikrant Dogra, CEO, JKDCUL among others. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kanav Sharma, DDM-NABARD, highlighted the benefits of the program for rural women and SHG members. He further informed that MEDPs are on-location skill development training programs supported by NABARD which attempt to bridge the skill deficits or facilitate optimization of production activities already pursued by the SHG members.
