| GDC Ukhral celebrates World Suicide Prevention Day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 9: Psychological Counselling Cell of Government Degree College Ukhral today organised a webinar on the theme “creating Hope through action” to celebrate the world suicide prevention day. Large number of students participated in this webinar. The resource person of the program was Prof. Iftikhar Hussain. He explained in detail about the causes and prevention of suicide. He stated that high mortality rates and absence of effective treatment as the major triggers for the rise in anxiety and depression cases which when not given proper attention might end up in suicide. He highlighted that depression is the main cause of suicide. Principal of the college Dr Ranvijay Singh stressed on the point that youth are most prone to suicide and are extremely vulnerable to experience depression.
He advised all the students to remain positive and hopefull in order to avoid depression and suicide. The proceeding of the program conducted by Prof Zakir Hussain Convener Psychological Counselling Cell
