Empower Natives
9/10/2021 11:14:15 PM
The development projects in Jammu were never been completed in time bound manner and the region never remained a priority for the erstwhile Kashmir centric regimes that came into power during the past 70-years.
The foundation stone of Jammu Bus Stand was laid in 2003 and the project was completed in 2021. It took eighteen years for the project to get completed.
Another glaring example of Jammu projects being taken lightly was the Artificial Lake Project. The foundation stone of the project was laid 12-years ago. It’s still incomplete.
The flyover which was sanctioned till Satwari Chowk got caught in the political wrangles and it ended up near Women’s College. If one sees during the past three decades Jammu has got half flyover on the name of development.
It took 70 years for Jammu’s native language, Dogri, to be included in the list of official languages of Jammu and Kashmir.
People of Jammu had welcomed the revocation of Article 370 and were hopeful that locals would get their due share but still lot needs to be done as the intrusion of the outsiders has made the competition tough.
Local firms have to raise their standards to compete with the outsiders.
If they don’t do that these firms will turn into non-entities. They need to bid for any work whether it’s small or big.
Helmsmen need to ensure that natives of the land are empowered so that they compete with the outsiders. Without empowering locals no jobs can be created.
The administration also needs to focus on ensuring that the projects like Artificial Lake, developing Patnitop into an attractive tourist spot should be completed without any further delay.
People of Jammu should feel the change on the ground.
Despite J&K not having an elected government at place, people are of the firm opinion that the government backed by the BJP is managing the affairs of the Union Territory.
The local BJP leaders cannot run away by claiming that they are not a part of the governance system.
People of Jammu had voted for the BJP with a hope that it would become their voice and would end the injustice which the people of Jammu have faced during the past 70-years.
