Ganpati bless us to overcome COVID-19: Nitish | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: State Executive Member BJP J&K, Nitish Mahajan has appealed to the people of Jammu to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 with religious fervour and gaiety amid observance of Covid-19 SOPs. “May Ganpati ji help us all to overcome COVID-19 pandemic and bless us with a happy and healthy life,” Nitish Mahajan said while addressing a programme held here today in connection with Ganesh Chaturthi. The senior BJP leader said that the 10-day Ganesh Festival commenced with Pran Pratishtha, a ritual performed to consecrate an idol followed by offering continuous prayers and paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha popularly known as Siddhi Vinayak. This festival will finally conclude on September 21, he added. Nitish Mahajan said that festivals in India are the special occasions for the people of all communities irrespective of their caste creed or religion to celebrate with full enthusiasm. He said that it is this participation by the people of all religions that reflects the ethos of Unity in Diversity so far as India is concerned. He said Jammu too has been a significant centre of communal harmony where people from all communities actively participate in all the festivals. Prays for peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and its people, the BJP leader appealed to Jammuites to make this festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha a grand success maintain communal harmony and brotherhood besides strict adherence to Covid SOPs. |
