JAMMU, Sept 10: The online five day capacity building workshop for district resource persons on Curriculum and Pedagogy in ECCE concluded here today at SCERT J&K, Divisional office Jammu. The workshop was organized in order to leverage the recommendations of New Education Policy 2020, along with NIPUN BHARAT's guidelines towards strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education in the UT of J&K, for District Resource Persons from DIETs and teachers from Jammu Division by “Population Education, Girl Education, ECCE and Education for All” Wing of State Council of Educational Research and Training-J&K, Divisional Office Jammu. The workshop aimed at training and equipping participants from DIETs & Pre-primary/ primary school teachers of Jammu division with knowledge and skills required for effective implementation of NEP’s recommendations in ensuring joyful, stress free and experiential learning experiences in early childhood care and education in government schools and also creating a pool of trained Resource Persons in ECCE who can further transmit the skills in their respective Districts in cascade mode. The workshop was inaugurated by Surinder Kumar, Joint Director, SCERT-J&K Jammu Division, who in his inaugural address welcomed Resource persons and experts for the programme. All renowned experts actively deliberated on the carefully planned themes and topics pertaining to play as pedagogy in ECCE, Story-telling for foundational literacy, Fun math for foundational Numeracy, organization of learning areas, art integrated learning as pedagogy in ECCE and ways and approaches of assessment in ECCE. Participants in the workshop were actively engaged through participatory assignments, online study material, audios, videos, and expert sessions through virtual mode. All the participating trainees showed an overwhelming, active and constructive response throughout the program. In total 50 District Resource Persons were trained in the workshop. |
