Notorious drug peddler arrested, 4 kg heroin recovered in Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 10: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered four kgs of heroin in the frontier district of Kupwara. A police spokesman said Friday evening that a police party from Police Post (PP) Taad headed by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Muneer Ahmad during patrolling at Sudhpora, a forward area, intercepted one person moving in suspicious circumstances. During his checking four kgs of Heroin were recovered from the peddler identified as Tanzeer Ahmad Najar, a resident of Sudhpora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 94/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Karnah and further investigation has been taken up. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace. |
