Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 11: A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu and Kashmir (UT) met Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Kailash Choudhary, MOS, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, MOS, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and submitted a memorandum in respect of long pending demand to upgrade the status of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) to Central Agricultural University, Jammu. The delegation was led by Dr. Permendra Singh, ABVP State President (J&K). During the meeting, Mukesh Manhas, ABVP (J&K) State Secretary urged before the agriculture ministers for upgrading the status of SKUAST-Jammu to Central Agricultural University, Jammu and stated that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is naturally bestowed with diverse range of climatic conditions namely temperate, semi-temperate, sub-tropical (mid-hills & foot hill planes) and by and large typically represents the predominant cropping systems and almost all kind of agricultural and allied activities practiced in the North India and thus this region could be a natural claimant for having Central Agricultural University at Jammu. |
