Jammu, Sept 11: Two minors among four of a family were killed and as many rescued when a car they were travelling in plunged into a canal in Miran Sahib area here in the city outskirts. Police here on Saturday said that during midnight, one car (JK02AC-7169) driven by Ganesh Kumar, resident of Bahadurpur Arnia. The car was ferrying eight passengers and was on its way from Satwari towards Bahadurpur, Arnia. Police said that when reached at Dak Bunglow, Marallian, Miran Sahib, the vehicle fell into the canal while crossing a small bridge. Three persons identified as Surjeet Kumari, 52, her husband Kewal Krishan, 60, Paranshi, two months and Manshi,2 years, have died in the mishap. Meanwhile four others namely Ganesh Kumar, Kanchana, Menu Kumari and Sushant, have been rescued, police said. “Search operation to trace a two-months old child is on,” police added. |
