KATHUA, Sept 16: Miffed over the indifferent attitude of the Power Development Department, consumers staged protest demonstration at Jarai Chowk here today. The protesters belonging to dissimilar wards of town especially belonging to BPL category raised slogans against the concerned department for harassing the poor people.
The protesters said that they are poor people and are not having any facilities like refrigerators, televisions, geysers, or air conditioners. They hardly use bulbs as there are regular power cuts and sometimes they reel under darkness for days. |
