Professional Golfers will become peace ambassadors of J&K: Raman Suri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 16: The participation of 125 golfers including 119 professional and 6 amateurs in J&K Open 2021 Golf Tournament with a prize money of Rs 40 lakh in Royal Springs Golf Course, Jammu and Kashmir is another feather in the cap of J&K UT administration, which is working relentlessly to bring J&K on World Tourism Map. This is after several years that professional golfing is returning to Kashmir. Appreciating the move, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that J&K Tourism and Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has done a commendable job in bringing golf to life and making players like Udayan Mane and Jyoti Randhawa play in Jammu and Kashmir. It is sure to boost the morale of young players. Raman Suri said that millions of rupees have been spent in Jammu Tawi Golf Course and in the coming winters, one similar tournament should also be organised here to bring this golf course to the list of international golfing arenas. He said that this golf course too is meant for professionals and doesn't lack in any sense including club, accommodation, practice ranges, landscapes, parking and of course the main gold course, which makes it an ideal location for professional tournaments. Raman Suri said, this tournament is a message to those trying to paint a wrong picture of Jammu and Kashmir across the globe. This place, he added, is not only safe but abuzz with multiple sporting, cultural and political activities that are all catering to different sections of society and boosting socio-economic standards of the UT. He said, Parliamentary delegations are descending in Jammu and Kashmir with a purpose to ensure that UT prospers at par with other states in the country. |
