| 19 bovines rescued by District Police Samba | | |

SAMBA, Sept 16: District Police Samba has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 19 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a Truck having registration number NL01N /9277 coming from Kathua side and moving towards valley. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but the alert cops successfully chased and intercepted the vehicle few metres away from the Naka point. However driver managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness. During checking 19 cattle were found inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 163/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started. |
