SFAC organizes district level awareness camp for farmers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 22: Small Farmers Agri-business Consortium (SFAC), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, Govt of India organized a 'District Level Awareness Camp' for Equity Grant & Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme (EG&CGF) for Farmer Producer Companies (FPC's) and Venture Capital Assistance (VCA) Scheme for Agri- business Development at Krishi Bhawan, Jammu. The programme was organised by Project Management agency (PMA) AFC India Ltd., New Delhi. The Senior Regional Manager AFC SB Katiyar talked about the schemes in the whole country and said that the Govt. of India has very ambitious schemes of agriculture and farmers community to make them self - reliant. In Equity Grant, 15 grants are given under the share Capital Grant Fund, 25% to 75% free security is provided after taking a moment from the bank up to 2 crores, so that the risk of Banks can be reduced. Under the Venture Capital Assistance (VCA), the Govt. also provides loans without interest for setting up an enterprise or 40% of the margin money whichever is less. The scheme is being run through the bank all over the country, under which 3164 projects have been approved so far. The programme was presided over by Chief Guest Rajan Sharma, Joint Director Extension, besides Chief Agriculture Officer, Arvind Baru, District Manager, Romesh Kumar Raina, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Syed Altaf Shah KVK HOD Dr Puneet Chowdhary and Anu Bala, Assistant Director Fisheries also participated in the camp.
