9/22/2021 10:54:42 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 22: Sarv Shakti Sena, J&K unit today staged protest in support of Jammu bandh call given by Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Led by Rajan Gupta, President Sarv Shakti Sena, J&K unit, the party activists raised slogans against the anti-people policies of J&K government.
Talking to reporters, Rajan Gupta expressed strong displeasure over the proposal of big companies like Reliance to open stores in Jammu in the retail sector, saying that if this happens then small shopkeepers of Jammu will be ruined.
Rajan said firstly it was wine shop owners who got the jolt by the so-called new Excise policy and now the Liquor Bar owners are the next targets of the anti-Jammu administration. He said that the Banquet Halls are also facing the brunt of government baseless restriction on number of guests. He said government seems to be cajoled into accepting the dictates of big businesses and other vested economic interests who have long been in hegemonic position in India in collusion with the bureaucracy and the mafia politician. After Liquor and Mining primarily, the next target is retail and wholesale including distribution.
Rajan asked the government not to test the patience of the Jammu people. He said in 2008 Amarnath land row agitation all the people of Jammu were united and asked government to amend its policies otherwise the people of Jammu region will not hesitate to repeat 2008 like agitation in 2021.
Rajan urged the government to roll back the decisions which are against the legitimate interests of trade and commerce. Others who were present included Nitish Kumar, Vishno Kumar, Ayush Saproo, Rahul Gupta, Ravi Kumar, Sunny Singh, Babbu Singh and Sahil Singh.
