JKCCTU criticizes imposition of Article 311 (ABC), terms it anti-employees

JAMMU, Sept 23: National Secretary AISGEF & President JKCCTU, Md Maqbool expressed serious concern over the Union Territory administration's recent arbitrary moves to dismiss the govt employees after attaining 22 years of service or 48 years of age, claiming to get rid off from the dead wood and checking corruption and also imposing most draconian Article 311(ABC) and erstwhile State of J&K's Article 126 (AB).
The entire Trade Union moment though out the country and in Jammu and Kashmir has been opposing this anti-employee article since long and demanding to repeal Article 311 (ABC) from the constitution, he said.
The union territory administration while imposing these draconian measures has started the repressive and suppressive measures to muzzle the voice of employees and trade Unions which caused widespread resentment among the employees.
The govt instead of generating the new employment opportunities is hell bent upon to dismiss the employees already on job and creating unrest and large scale resentment through these measures which can cause further alienation.
JKCCTU while upholding the concept of National Integrity wants to make it clear to the UT administration that if any employee is involved in anti-national activities then there are enough provisions in the service rules to deal with those employees.
And as for as dead wood and corruption is concerned, the govt must seek the cooperation from the Trade Unions of employees and workers, civil society and other public representatives to make the authorities and employees accountable for which JKCCTU is ready to suggest the measures and cooperate.
JKCCTU while strongly condemning the Union territory administration's move appeals all the employees and workers to protest against this anti employees decision and urged all the Trade union leaders of to unitedly protest these authoritarian moves and save the hard earned service and other democratic and trade union rights of employees and workers.
