Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: Government Degree College, Chenani under the auspices of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell, NSS Unit 'PRAYATNA', Social Sciences Club "THE AWAKENING' and 'The Cell for celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' organized an international webinar on Nutritional Needs of Adolescents. The programme was organized to create awareness about September 2021 being celebrated as 'POSHAN MAAH' across the country. The programme was organized in collaboration with the NGO 'Global Helping Hand' under the theme "Growing Well in a Changing Environment" under "POSHAN ABHIYAAN that is regarded as "People's Movement" by the Government of India; therefore the program incorporated the participation of public representatives, social organizations and people from private sector. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal formally welcomed the chief guest, resource persons and other dignitaries. She emphasized that nutritional knowledge, with focus on the young students & general public is the motive of the program, moreover, if we are to succeed in significantly reducing the excessive premature morbidity and mortality from our leading killer diseases like heart disease, cancer, and stroke, we need to restructure the lifestyles of the younger generation, with proper nutrition, health habit discipline, and exercise programming, all these will have a great influence on personal health, and will help reduce our current catastrophic medical care expenditures. |
