Weather remains pleasant despite rain in several parts of Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 24: Weather remained pleasant despite early morning rain on Friday in several parts of the Kashmir valley, including Srinagar, where authorities imposed Corona curfew in six wards in the down town following increase in COVID-19 positive cases. There would be isolated light rain and thundershowers over Kashmir and Jammu divisions during the next 24 horus, a Met department spokesman said this evening. However, he said, weather will remain mainly dry during the subsequent two days. Srinagar, recorded 26.4 degree maximum temperature which was slightly above normal while the minimum temperature was 14.2 degree which was 3.8 degree above normal. The sky would be clear to partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 29 degree and 13 degree respectively in Srinagar during the next 24 hours, he said. Gulmarg, major tourist attraction was the only place in Kashmir where the maximum temperature was below normal though maximum temperature remained above normal. He said the maximum temperature was 16.4 degree which was 0.9 degree below normal. The night temperature was 8 degree which was one notch above normal. Pahalgam, famed health resort recorded 23.8 degree maximum temperature, 1.2 degree above normal while the minimum temperature was 11.7 degree which was 5.5 notches above normal. Qazigund, Kokernag and Kokernag also recorded above normal maximum and minimum temperature during the past 24 hours. |
