| GDC Majalta celebrates NSS Day | | |

JAMMU, Sept 24: Government Degree College Majalta celebrated 52nd National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with great zeal. The programme started with the lighting of lamp and sarswati bandana. The beauty of the programme was that it was organized by NSS volunteers themselves. Dr. Suresh Sharma, NSS Programme Officer narrated the history and importance of this day .To him, the basic purpose of NSS is to serve the institution, locality, village and nation 24 x 7 for the welfare of country .He said that at present country has more that thirty seven lacs registered volunteers and they have done excellent service during Covid 19 pandemic era. Dr. B B Anand, Principal of the College in his presidential address said that the idea behind the of establishment of NSS was inspired by the Gandhian thought and the motto of the NSS is not me but you. |
