JAMMU, Sept 25: All India Jat Mahasabha has urged Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to grant OBC status to the Jat community residing in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued here today, Manmohan Singh Choudhary, former Mayor and J&K President of the Mahasabha said that the elections are nearing and everybody is trying to please the Jat community as it is a deciding factor in almost 20 constituencies in Jammu province. He said that all the hollow promises made with the community are never fulfilled. Choudhary strongly condemned the callous attitude of J&K Administration for delaying the OBC status to Jats. He demanded that Modi should personally intervene into the matter and directed the LG’s Administration to give OBC status to Jats as it is the community which is deprived of its due share as regard to jobs, and political reservation. He added that the youth of the Jat community are facing hardships. |
