GCW Parade celebrates NSS Day by holding series of activities

JAMMU, Sept 25: Government College for Women, Parade Ground, commemorated the 52nd NSS Day by holding a series of activities.
The event was organised by the NSS Unit of the College under the supervision of Principal Dr. S.P Sarswat and the guidance of NSS program officers, Dr. Mohammad Majeed (HoD, Urdu Department); Dr. Gurpreet Kour (Assistant Professor, Chemistry) and Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed (Assistant Professor, Zoology). The event commenced with a welcome ceremony, by the NSS Coordinator Dr. Gurpreet Kour. The first activity of the event was marked by conducting a cleanliness drive by the NSS Volunteers in the college premises, under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Around 20 volunteers participated in the activity. The drive was followed by a slogan making competition with the participation of 15 volunteers. They made slogans, enunciating their views on topics such as, “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and “Beti padhao, Beti Bachao”. A deliberation on topics like “Impact of Covid on students post lockdown” and “Unlock: Boon or Bane?”, was held in which around 25 volunteers interacted with one another and gave their feedback on the mentioned topics. Ex NSS Volunteers were also invited for the event to share their views, experience and journey in NSS. They also motivated other volunteers to work harder and stay dedicated to all the upcoming NSS activities. The event ended with words of wisdom by the Principal of the College. He expressed his views on the dedication displayed by NSS Unit towards important activities. A formal vote of thanks was presented by NSS Commander Mavi Sapolia. The NSS Unit wished everyone a very Happy NSS Day.
