| GDC Billawar organises seminar on “Mental Health Education” | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 25: Psychological counselling cell of GDC Billawar organised one day seminar on “Mental Health Education” under the aegis of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the college auditorium. Prof. Anita jamwal Principal of the college presided over the Function.On this occasion five teaching staff and five students present their papers. The programme was started with traditional lamp lightning.Prof .Rajni kumari HOD Hindi and Co-convener psychological counselling cell conducted the proceedings of the event and also presented welcome address.
Prof.Anita jamwal in her presidential address threw light on mental health and said that a primary goal of mental health education is to increase awareness.This involves teaching children what mental health means, and how to maintain positive mental health.she also said that looking after mental health can preserve a person’s ability to enjoy life.Doing this involves reaching a balance between life activities, responsibilities and efforts to achieve psychological resilience ,she added.
Dr.Shamim Ahmed Banday convener psychological counselling cell highlighted the concept of mental and emotional health which can be helpful for improving self esteem and mental stress and cope up with mental illness.
He also Shared many Examples make students realise if they are under pressure or stress .
