Lawyers protest civilian killings in Kashmir, abstain from work | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 8: On the call of the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu (JKHCBAJ), the lawyers abstained from working in the High Court & Subordinate Courts in Jammu today to protest the selective civilian killings of nationalist people. The Lawyers in large number took out procession in the court premises raising slogans against Pakistan and the anti-national forces responsible for the killings of innocent citizens of India. The protest was led by the President of the Bar MK Bhardwaj, Sr. Advocate and other office bearers of the Bar namely Mohinder Pal Singh Pali, Adv, Vice President, Surjeet Singh Andotra, Adv. General Secretary, Aditya Sharma, Adv, Joint Secretary, Amandeep Singh, Adv. Treasurer and Nitin Bakshi, Adv, President, YLA. Speaking on the occasion, Bhardwaj strongly condemned Pakistan for carrying on the policy of enmity against India and harboring terrorists on its soil and using them to threaten life of the people & security forces in our Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Pakistan, who has failed to provide democracy and development to its people, has no business to disturb our peace in Jammu & Kashmir. The Association has called upon the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir & the centre to take stern action against the anti-national forces as well as against the neighboring country Pakistan to prevent them for repeating similar acts in future and take effective steps to safeguard the lives of the citizens. |
