JAMMU, Oct 11: NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura organized a cleanliness campaign at Sheetla Mata Temple, RS Pura under Clean India Programme, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to celebrate "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" under the guidance of Principal, Prof Sunil Uppal and supervision of Prof Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. About 20 students participated in the cleanup drive by picking plastic items like wrappers, plastic bottles and polythenes thereby cleaning the temple premises. Afterwards, the NSS Volunteers interacted with the common masses present there and educated them about disadvantages of Single Use Plastics, segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes, use of green and blue bins etc. The Principal of the college applauded the efforts of NSS unit. |
