Volunteers needed for sign language interpretation | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: The Association of the deaf and aphasic Jammu is looking for volunteers to become interpreters of sign language. The volunteers need to be minimum 12th pass in qualification. The Association will train the volunteers in sign language. The training will be for duration of 6 months-1year based on the learning aptitude of the volunteers. After the successful completion of training, the volunteers will be rewarded with a certificate recognizing them as official interpreters of sign language. The role of the volunteers will be to communicate with government/private authorities/ media/others in behalf of the deaf and aphasic community. Volunteers with highest proficiency in sign language can also stand a chance to get associated with local media channels as sign language interpreters. |
