Unemployment level rises in J&K UT, lack of job creation policy: Tajinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: Renowned social and political activist Tajinder Singh expressed his concern over the rising of unemployment level in Jammu and Kashmir as 25,50000 educated youths in the UT are bearing the brunt of the lack of employment and struggling to find the jobs due to lack of job policy. Tajinder said as per economic survey the employment rate in Jammu and Kashmir is higher than the average national employment rate and nearly a quarter of our population in the age group of 18 to 29 is unemployed, due to lack of opportunities, unemployment has become a serious concern and the percentage of unemployed youths is increasing with poor absorption rate. "Due to unemployment, marriages are not held at proper age. It also causes depression and pushes youth towards drug addiction and it affects families and society as well. One of the causes behind the rising trend of drug addiction in Jammu and Kashmir is unemployment, when there are no jobs, it impacts society negatively," Tajinder added. Tajinder said government must consider this issue and bring employment policy which is crafted in such a way that every educated and skilled youth of Jammu and Kashmir get job to its match and capability in government as well as in private sectors. |
