Gunfight resumes in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: After a lull of more than 15 hours, security forces on Tuesday established fresh contact with terrorists in the gunfight that began on Monday afternoon in Rajouri district's Dera Ki Gali area of Jammu and Kashmir. "Encounter started again at around 1410 hours when contact was established with the terrorists," an official said. He said that terrorists fired at the patrol party which was effectively retaliated and fresh gunfight resumed in Bhangai Top near DKG. "Intermittent firing is on," said the official. The anti-terror operation started on Monday morning in Charmer village of Surankote tehsil of Poonch district and spread to forested area of Banghai village in neighbouring Rajouri district. Five soldiers including one Junior Commissioned Officer had lost their lives in exchange of fire with terrorists Monday. Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force have claimed responsibility for Monday's attack on a patrol party in Surankote that led to the gun battle in which the five Army personnel were killed. |
