JAMMU, Oct 21: The birth anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh, founder of royal Dogra dynasty and first Maharaja of the J&K, was celebrated by Umeed Foundation at Jammu. Surinder Singh Gilli, former President Yuva Rajput Sabah & Chairman Umeed Foundation threw light on the life and achievements of Maharaja Gulab Singh. Lashing out at the alleged Kashmir-centric approach of the successive governments, Gilli said, “Maharaja Gulab Singh was the king of Jammu & Kashmir, who purchased Kashmir and also annexed Ladakh to form the State of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.” Gilli said that Yuva Rajput Sabha stands for restoration of statehood status for Jammu & Kashmir and not for into two union territories. |
