IED defused in North Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 21: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was defused by bomb disposal squad on Thursday along the Baramulla Kupwara highway in north Kashmir, officials said. The suspect object was found by the road opening party (ROP) of the Border Security Force near Saidpora village in Rafiabad. “ The suspicious item was approximately five meters from the road. Soon after senior security officials reached the spot and a bomb disposal squad was called to check it all,” an official source said, adding the area was cordoned and the traffic on the highway was also closed." The sniffer dogs later confirmed the presence of explosives." Srinagar based defense spokesman said suspected IED was detected by BSF. "Traffic including Army convoys were halted for safety reasons. Bomb Disposal Team from Army Camp, Langait was moved to the location. IED was destroyed in-situ. Traffic on highway was resumed thereafter," he said. |
