NYK Udhampur organises clean India campaign | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Oct 21: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Govt. of India) organised Clean India campaign in different blocks keeping in view the “Jan Bhagidari” as part of ongoing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations. In Ossu Keria, District Development Councillor S Subash Chander accompanied the NYK Volunteers along with other PRI members in the mega cleanliness drive from where 50 Kgs of plastic was eradicated. In Ramnagar, NYVs Anil, Bharti, Yashpaul and Jyoti organised cleanliness and plastic eradication drive with involvement of Beopar Mandal and eradicated more than 40 Kgs plastic waste. Local shopkeepers and labourers also participated and appreciated the initiative of the Union Govt. and pledged to adopt cleanliness oriented behaviour in their daily lives. In Chanunta, the awareness and cleanliness drives were organised in both the Anganwadis of Ward No. 5 and Ward No.7. Similar cleanliness drive was also organised by NYVs Vishav and Mohit at Village Chulna, Panchari in collaboration with Human Rights Trust. In the markets of Khoon and Manwal, NYVs Ansuya, Preeti, Sapana and Karan went shop to shop and collected plastic waste besides awaring the shopkeepers to minimize the dependence on plastic and customers to use jute bags instead of plastic bags. They also extended the cleanliness drive in village Amara. The volunteers in Blocks Moungri, Ghordi, Kukwanta and Parlidhar also organised similar plastic collection drives and pasted “No Plastic Use” posters in many prominent locations. In Block Latti, Sub-Inspector Mohd Aslam accompanied the NYK Volunteers in the plastic eradication drive.
