Streamlined drainage is needed to avoid damages from rains: Sat | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 22: Former Minister and ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) along with Councillor Sunita Gupta started works for construction of deep drains at Janipur Colony near Ramlila Ground. The leader was also accompanied by Mandal President, Raveesh Mengi, local residents and political activists of the area. The works will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 12 lakhs and the funds were allotted to the Councillor for the purpose of the works. Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that several areas of the ward were toured along with the Councillor and team where people have demanded to create a streamlined system of drainage in their areas so that the damages from rains could be avoided. He said earlier without a proper drainage system, the water was entering into the houses of people and he urged the concerned departments to do the works properly so that best possible infra could be provided to the people. He asked them to create a proper system in the whole Jammu so that in coming times such problems do not persist. Sunita Gupta said that the locals have expressed their gratitude towards former MLA for touring their areas and listening to their problems. Raveesh stated that many developmental works were done in the area with the help of Former MLA and many more are in the pipeline which will be taken up in coming days in order to avoid public distress. Kulbir Singh, Sahil Gupta, Sanjay Bhat, Neeru Sehgal, Rakesh Gupta, Ramesh Sharma, Swaraj Singh, Gian Singh and several others were also present. |
