Promoting unemployment: Non-locals flee Valley as admin fails to save their lives
Jammu natives left jobless, courtesy arbitrary decisions of bureaucrats
10/22/2021 11:19:32 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 22: Militants targeting members of minority community in Kashmir and killing eleven civilians, including five non-local labourers, have led to forced exodus of the poor people from the Valley.
During the past few days thousands of non-locals have left Kashmir and have returned to their native villages to save their lives. “These poor labourers have been rendered jobless. The helmsmen, who are bragging about the development and taking J&K to new heights seem least bothered about the plight of civilians and how difficult they are finding it to survive,” said an observer.
He said, “Besides non-locals losing their sources of income, natives too are facing immense hardships. During the past two years locals have suffered as the people handling the J&K affairs haven’t paid any attention towards the demands and necessities of the natives.”
The observer said, “Bureaucrats have been behaving like monarchs and have been just bragging about their so-called achievements, which are far from the reality. On ground people are suffering. Whether locals or non-local labourers, everyone is sailing in the same boat. The helmsmen have failed to provide security to the non-locals in Kashmir and in Jammu they have snatched the sources of businesses from the local businessmen.”
An analyst said, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is visiting J&K from Saturday, shouldn’t get carried away by the presentations made by these bureaucrats. He needs to ascertain who are the people misleading the government.”
