GDC Kathua holds 'Say no to single use plastic' campaign | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: In continuation to its activities under Clean India campaign and "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", NSS Units GDC Kathua today organized 'Say no to single use plastic and polythene' campaign in the markets of Kathua city. Under this drive volunteers conducted door to door campaign in the markets and interacted with shopkeepers and people who are visiting markets for shopping. Volunteers appealed the shopkeepers to serve items to the customers in the jute bags instead of polythene. In addition to it volunteers also appealed to the peoples and customers to carry jute bags along with them while coming for shopping in the market. While holding placards of 'Say no to Single Use Plastic and Polythene' in the hands volunteers organized this event in the form of rally and door to door campaign. Traders appreciated the initiative of volunteers for organizing such types of campaign and also thanked them to organize such kinds of campaigns time to time in the market. Volunteers also appealed to the passersby to participate in this campaign and become ambassador to forward this campaign in their respective areas for the cause of nation. The event was organized under the patronage of College incharge Principal Prof Raj Kiran Sharma and under the supervision of NSS Programme Officer Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral. |
