DC Kishtwar reviews arrangements for Urs Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib

KISHTWAR, Nov 5: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today convened a meeting of all the concerned district officers to review the arrangements for Urs of Shah Asrar-Ud-Din Sahib (RA) scheduled on November 10, 2021.
During the meeting, the chair reviewed the different arrangements, including provision of accommodation for devotees, power supply/water supply, firewood, ration, LPG, Sanitation, Security, Medical care, transportation, fire tender and overall traffic management and passed a slew of directions to the concerned.
The DC directed XEN PHE Division Kishtwar to ensure availability of sufficient drinking water for devotees/Ziareens at the shrines of Astan Bala, Astan Pani and other places from Nov 8 to Nov11, 2021 with backup provision of water tankers.
The Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority and Executive Officer Municipality were also directed to go for repair and replacement of the non-functional street lights and high mast lights in the town and the adjoining areas of the shrines and in the Chowgan ground for hassle free movement of devotees. Cleanliness around both the shrines and lime lining of the roads leading to the shrines was also stressed upon.
Further, ARTO, DTI, SHO and manager bus stand were directed to devise a proper transport plan viz. arrangement of additional buses for smooth to and fro movement of pilgrims, management of Traffic and Parking of vehicles. It was also revealed that for commercial vehicles ITI Ground and FCI Godown premises have been identified for parking.
Executive Engineer JPDCL Kishtwar was directed to ensure uninterrupted Power Supply at both the shrines and places of stay of Ziareens.
The DC also directed CMO and MS District Hospital to establish one each first aid camp with all basic medical facilities at both the shrines. He further directed for making available facemasks and sanitizers at both the places.
Several other arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which included installation of temporary toilets, parking facility of passenger vehicles and establishment of control room.
It was also given out in the meeting that ACR Kishtwar shall be nodal officers for implementation of decisions and directions.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Butt; ACR Kishtwar Akhter Hussain Qazi; tehsildar (HQ) Chander Shekhar Sharma besides other concerned district and sectoral officers and Administrator Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar, besides prominent citizens also attended the meeting.
