ACB produces chargesheet against then SI, E&T Deptt Lower Munda | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 5: J&K's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday produced chargesheet against the then Sub Inspector Excise and Taxation Department in the court for accumulating "huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income". A spokesman of the ACB said chargesheet was produced against Javeed Ahmad Shah, the then Sub-Inspector, Excise & Taxation Department, posted at Toll Post Lower Munda Qazigund in the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption, Pulwama in south Kashmir against accumulation of huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income by earning money through corrupt means. He said, the instant case was registered on the outcome of a verification conducted into the allegations that the accused while posted at Toll Post Qazigund, accumulated huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income by earning money through corrupt means. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 32/2015 P/S VOK now ACB Anantnag U/s 5 (1) (e) r/w 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Samvat 2006 was registered against Javeed Ahmad Shah, the then Sub-Inspector, the ACB spokesman said. He said, during the investigations conducted it was revealed that the public servant during his posting at Toll Post, has made huge cash deposits in the name of his wife and himself to the tune of more than Rs 30 Lacs during the year 2010-2011, which were found highly disproportionate to his known source of income and the money was later transferred to the account of his father-in-law and brother-in-law to conceal it from being detected. The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed by the court on 13.12.2021, he added. |
