Cong leaders join Shiv Sena, Sharma appointed as VP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: Due to the ongoing decimation of the Congress in the political arena and probability of its final end, dozens of its senior leaders from its Kathua unit left the party and joined Shiv Sena during a simple yet impressive function held here today. These leaders from the party's Kathua unit attended the programme to join Shiv Sena in the presence of party's Jammu and Kashmir state president Manish Sahni. The new entrants into Shiv Sena including Congress leader Mohinder Pal Sharma besides other party activists bade farewell to Congress and joined hands with Shiv Sena. President UT J&K, Manish Sahni along with Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, and President Kamgar Wing Raj Singh welcomed these leaders with Shiv Sena's mark and Bandhan. They made the new entrants aware about the party's ideology and policies and then administered the Oath to them to serve the society, nation and religion. In his address on the occasion, the Shiv Sena State President, Manish Sahni while expressing satisfaction and pride over steady progress of his party, said that with the commitment of its devoted Shiv Sainiks across the nation towards 24x7 selfless service to the society at large the party is progressing by leaps and bounds and now the day is not far when Shiv Sena's flag will be seen waving in every state of the World's largest democracy. Meanwhile, Manish Sahni announced that Mohinder Pal Sharma has been appointed as Shiv Sena's J&K state unit Vice-President. Other leaders who joined the party included Deepak Singh, Sunil Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Tarun, Pradeep Chowdhary, Ram Chowdhary, Rakesh Kumar, Poorna Chand and Bharat Bhushan. On this occasion, Ghulam Rasool Lone and Sumeet Abrol were also present. |
