Cong protests against hefty charges at Flower Garden Bhour Camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: Congress Refugee Cell Vice Chairman and Block President Amrit Bali Sunday led a strong protest against LG Manoj Sinha led administration for keeping Rs 25 ticket charges for individual to enter Flower Garden at Bhour Camp in Jammu. The garden, which was raised at a cost worth crores on 563 kanals of land on the pattern of famous Tulip Garden in Kashmir valley, is still waiting for tourists and its promotion. The hope with which the garden was inaugurated to promote tourism in Jammu has completely died down because the concerned authorities seem to be least bothered about its maintenance, completing work and attracting tourists, said Bali. Even after 12 years, flower garden is nowhere in any map or any promotional event. Ironically, instead of developing the flower garden, with every passing year, poor planning and lack of will on part of BJP Govt led to its further downfall, he added. Bali also drew the attention of authorities concerned for repairing of damaged portion of bridge and approach road to avoid any untoward incident at the earliest besides making it safe, secure and functional for conveyance of general public. "Around 3-4 villages get connected with this bridge but the damaged bridge has restricted vehicular movement and due to which people had to take long routes to get to the other side," he said. He alleged that number of representations were given to the concerned department for this issue, but nothing was done to mitigate their problems. |
