Community halls necessary to socialize, learn: Sat | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: In order to provide basic facilities to the residents of Jammu West, former minister and ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) along with Councillor Subash Sharma started further works for the construction of a community hall at Lakkadmandi area of Janipur, Ward 36 near Durga Mandir. Sharma was also accompanied by Mandal President Raveesh Mengi, local residents and political activists of the area. The works are been taken up under the supervision of JMC in which an amount of Rs 30 Lakhs will be spent. Pertinent to mention, during the tenure of Former MLA, he sanctioned Rs 10 lakhs from his then CDF (Constituency Development Fund) scheme for the construction works of the hall and now the funds were allotted to the local Councillor for taking up further works. Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of the Janipur area and the same has been met so that basic facilities could be provided to the masses at lowest cost possible. He said that a modern Library will also be constructed inside the hall so that students can come here to study as well. He stated that the community hall will cater to the needs of the thousands of people of the area and they are necessary to socialize, learn and to access key services. Subash Sharma said that there was no place in the nearby locality where people could gather for religious programs but soon a well built community hall will be constructed to cater with the needs of the public. Ashok Khar, Sanjay Bhat, Joginder Sharma, Surya Parakash, Naresh Kumar and several others were also present. |
