Director Animal Husbandry visits far-flung Budhal area in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 22: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Dr. Sagar D. Doifode along with his team of officers visited the far-flung area of Budhal in district Rajouri to have an interaction with the farmers and to make them aware about the various farmer-centric welfare measures being taken by the department in the Jammu division. Director said that awareness-raising and proper dissemination of the welfare schemes being run by the department is critical to create an enabling environment for achieving more inclusive growth of farmers thus realizing the main aim of government behind launch of such schemes. He said the department is fully committed for the welfare of farming community and asked the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication and sincerity for the betterment of farmers in these far-flung areas. Director Animal Husbandry laid special emphasis over timely and effective implementation of all centrally sponsored as well as UT schemes and cautioned the officials to avoid unnecessary delays in this regard. During the camp many demands were put forth by the public pertaining to the development of dairy sector in the region. The Director assured the gathering that 200 dairy units (comprising of five cattle/buffaloes each) under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme shall be sanctioned on priority basis for Budhal, paving the way for the establishment of first 'Milk Village' in the region. He distributed Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) amongst the beneficiaries from Budhal and adjoining areas. Earlier, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Rajouri Dr. Fazal Hussain Soze briefed the Director about the overall scenario of the developmental initiatives taken by the department in the Rajouri district. Block Development Council (Budhal) Chairperson Shameem Akhtar, Member Kisan Advisory Board Rashid Saleem, PRI members, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu Krishan Lal, senior officers from district administration Rajouri, district officers from Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments including veterinary assistant surgeons, large number of farmers, breeders and general public from Budhal and adjoining areas were present on the occasion. |
