AJKLTF condemns false narrative on teachers' recruitment, promotions
11/23/2021 10:01:24 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 23: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers' Federation (AJKLTF) under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) condemned the false narrative being built over Teachers' recruitment and promotion in the J&K UT.
Neeraj Sharma, Vice President of AJKLTF J&KUT, expressed strong resentment in a press statement over false narrative being built and circulated with respect to freezing of fresh recruitments of vacant posts of teachers in UT of J&K. He said that School Education Department (SED) is neither taking the service issues of teaching community seriously nor they are bothered about students' welfare.
He further said that since Feb 2014 the SED has failed to hold DPC for promotion of Teachers as Masters and as a result stagnation has been created deliberately in SED. He pointed out that since 2013 around 4000 masters have been promoted as lecturers in different disciplines on Own Pay and Grade basis and are working as lecturers since last 10 years but are still occupying the masters' posts and it is yet another factor responsible for deliberate stagnation and mess in SED.
He further added that these two factors are largely responsible for freezing the Teachers Recruitment in J&K.
He further suggested that the only way to clear this mess is to regularize/confirm all those I/C lecturers who have been promoted on OPG basis in last 8 years for clearing the vacancies of masters in J&K. The SED must further immediately fill all the posts of Masters that would be cleared by regularizing the I/C lecturers. Soon after the promotion of Teachers as Masters the J&K SED can advertise fresh recruitments.
The Principal Secretary SED B K Singh himself admitted these loop holes in the department and while talking to media in Bhaderwah, he admitted the mismanagement created by the previous officers at the helm of affairs in School Education Department of J&K.
The vice President of AJKLTF Neeraj Sharma further appealed to Principal Secretary SED to get this mess/stagnation cleared in a time bound manner.
