| BNMS demands Rs 5 lakh compensation, job to kin of deceased worker | | |

JAMMU, Nov 23: Bhawan Nirman Mazdoor Sangh (BNMS) Jammu Kashmir has condemned the working of Labour Department particularly Jammu Kashmir Building and Construction Workers' Welfare Board as the officials are issuing orders on policy matters without any justified reasons.
BNMS said that the decisions are being taken without calling board meeting with the result common workers are suffering, adding that the renewal of old cards of more than one year is not allowed.
Due to these hurdles one worker Kamal Kishore of Arnia Tehsil RS Pura got frustrated and self immolated due to poor working of JKBOCWWB as he paid a visit to Labour Office number of times but failed to get justice and board is responsible for his death, said BNMS.
BNMS demanded that his family must be given compensation of Rs 5 lakh and a job to his family member.
BMS sought that JKBOCWWB meetings be called periodically and all the policy decision of JKBOCWWB must be taken in board meetings.
It appealed to LG JK UT and chairman JJKKBOCWWB Farooq Khan to call board meeting immediately and specific hassle free and worker friendly directions be given for smooth functioning. |
