People annoyed as electricity restored in Kishtwar after 24 hours of snapping of 132 KV transmission line

KISHTWAR, Nov 25: After snapping of 132 KV Kishtwar-Udhampur transmission line yesterday evening, the electricity in Kishtwar District was finally restored after 24 hours of darkness late last night.
As per the details available with Early Times, snapping of 132 KV transmission line that provides electricity to twin Districts of Doda and Kishtwar has become a regular feature causing lot of inconvenience to the people. “Our exams are going and snapping of electricity during night hours has become a major cause of concern for us” students appearing in 10th class winter session board exam told Early Times adding that a night before examination is like a whole year and snapping of electricity brings lots of hardships.
The shopkeepers who run computers shop told the Early Times that many students had to apply for various online forms while at the same time students had to apply online for scholarships added that whole process details due to frequent electricity.
“In addition to unscheduled power cuts—snapping of 132 KV transmission line is not a good sign at the time when winter just knocking the door” said a shopkeeper who demanded permanent solution to the problem. Meanwhile, the snapping of 132 KV transmission line also exposed the Kishtwar municipality and the solar lights installed by the Municipal Council Kishtwar seems to be out of order—gives a total dark look to whole Kishtwar town. The people slammed the Kishtwar MC officials for installation of sub standard and non functional solar lights in various areas of Kishtwar town and called upon the authorities to look into the issue of non functional of these solar lights in Kishtwar town.
