General Manager, Northern Railway holds meeting with ministers, MPs | | | AGENCIES CHANDIGARH, Nov 25: Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway held a meeting with the ministers/members of parliament of constituencies that come under the jurisdiction of Ambala and Firozpur divisions here today. This was in accordance with the directives given by Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav, advising general managers of zonal Railways to increase public outreach to get feedback for providing better service to the nation. Railway related issues in each constituency were discussed with the public representatives to find solutions for the benefit of the passengers. The GM briefed them about the various developmental activities and new initiatives taken up by Northern Railway. Gurinder Mohan Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Ambala Division and Dr. Seema Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager, Firozpur Division presented reports regarding the completed, ongoing & planned works relating to passenger amenities, infrastructure and services at stations and trains over constituencies in the states/UTs J&K, Himachal, Haryana, Punjab, UP and Chandigarh, serviced by Ambala and Firozpur Divisions. Senior Officers of Northern Railway and Ambala and Firozpur Divisions were also present in the meeting. Som Prakash, minister of state for commerce and industry, MPs Lok Sabha, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Dr. Amar Singh, Kishan Kapoor, Ratan Lal Kataria, Nayab Singh, Fazlur Rehman and Jasbir Singh Gill, MPs Rajya Sabha, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Indu Bala Goswami and Balwinder Singh Bhunder and some representatives of MPs put forward their views in the meeting. The MPs highly appreciated the good work done by Northern Railway in their constituencies. They collectively thanked the Railways for helping the nation overcome the adversaries of the corona pandemic in the last two years. Gangal, assured the members of parliament that Northern Railway would resolve the public grievances and issues put forward by them as early as possible. He further said that Northern Railway would always remain committed to the service of the passengers and rail users. |
