Roll out J&K’s sports policy within a month: Udhay Chib appeals LG | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 27: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) has appealed to LT Governor to keep his words and bring the sports policy for the welfare of budding sportspersons within one month. The appeal was made by the JKPYC President Udhay Bhanu Chib in his address during a programme organized here today to felicitate four sportspersons for bringing laurels to J&K by winning medals in the Judo National Championship. The programme titled “Hum Mein Hai Rajiv” was organized by Ranjyot Singh, Chairman Sports Cell JKPYC in which Chib was the chief guest while Sunny Jatt, AYC President Raipur Domana was also present. Chib said that the programme has been conceived and conceptualized to propagate the thoughts and innovative initiatives of the architect of Modern India, Bharat Ratana Rajiv Gandhi amongst the youth, farmers, women, labourers and every citizen of the country. The JKPYC President said that the youth of Jammu & Kashmir has enormous talent and need of the hour is to provide them the requisite platform. He lamented that unfortunately due to lack of sports policy, the J&K youth facing several hardships and the hidden talent of majority remains unexplored and goes waste. He alleged that the sportspersons, who brought medals at the national level sports championship for J&K, received step motherly treatment at the hands of successive regimes. Chib said that Congress is committed to ensure the overall development of the UT and will continue to fight for strengthening the democratic institutions directly benefiting the common people at grass root level. The sports persons felicitated during today’s programme include Akshay for winning gold medal in state Judo championship and bronze medal in sub-junior national Judo championship; Rajat for gold medal in State Judo Championship and silver medal in national Judo Championship; Kavin for gold medal in State Skating Championship and Ishika for gold medal in State Taekwondo Championship. Head Coach Suraj Bhan Singh and BSF Coach Rameshwar Singh Jamwal were also felicitated.
