KVK Reasi organizes national campaign on "Agriculture and Environment"

REASI, Nov 27: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized the national campaign on the theme "Agriculture and Environment: The Citizen Face" under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav here at Govt High School Talwara in Reasi district.
The programme was enthusiastically attended by a number of children and teaching faculty of the school. The major objective of the programme was to create awareness and orient the school children towards opportunities in the agriculture sector for entrepreneurship and employment. The event was organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof JP Sharma and Director Extension (DE), Prof SK Gupta of SKUAST-J.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr Banarsi Lal, Scientist &Head of KVK, Reasi with the warm welcome of the participants. He briefed the significance of the event and highlighted the entrepreneurship and employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. He also spoke in length on sustainable agriculture and environment protection. He educated the participants on modern agriculture and discussed in detail on commercial farming.
Headmaster of the school, Hardev Singh thanked KVK, Reasi for organizing the programme and appreciated the efforts of KVK, Reasi for educating the school children on agriculture and environment. School children actively participated in both the activities and showed their keen interest. Certificates and mementos were distributed by the KVK among the winners. Vishal Sharma of 10th class got 1st rank in the debate competition while Muskan bagged the 1st rank in drawing competition. The programme was anchored by Mohd Arif, Sr teacher of the school. During the programme school teachers Rajan Pandoh, Subheela Devi, Anju Bala, Zaffar Kalis and Farooq Hussain were also present. The event was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Dr Banarsi Lal with formal vote of thanks.
