GDC RS Pura conducts webinar on New Education Policy

JAMMU, Dec 4: GDC RS Pura under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and guidance of the Principal of the college, Prof Sunil Uppal organized webinars on "New Education Policy”. The online lectures began with a welcome address by Asst Prof Neha Jain, Head, Department of Computer Applications of the college. The revered principal of the college, Prof Sunil Uppal, introduced the guest speakers and also briefed the outlines of the NEP to the audience.
The guest speakers were Prof Alrex Romer from Christ University, Bangaluru and Parul Uppal, a student from PG Department of Public Policy, Christ University, Bangaluru.
Prof Romer, in his talk highlighted the salient features of NEP and said that it aims towards a holistic growth of the individuals. The policy also aims at ensuring early childhood care and education for all. He stressed that improving the quality of education across all levels from primary to university level is a continuous and ongoing process. The policy lays stress on ‘Anywhere, anytime learning’ paradigm also through various online portals. The policy also focuses at integrating mainstream education with the vocational education so as to ensure a good means of livelihood for all.
The next speaker was Parul Uppal. She gave a student perspective of the policy in a very interactive way.
She presented a very lively talk by involving the students also through a quiz.
The webinar was organized to create awareness about the NEP. The principal of the college, Prof Sunil Uppal thanked the speakers for their informative talk and said that such lectures are important for acquainting the students with the new opportunities which are made available to them through the government policies.
