CUJ conducts 4th webinar for capacity building, personality development for women | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 4: Central University of Jammu (CUJ) today organized third and fourth webinar in the five-webinar series for capacity building and personality development for women of the region, in collaboration with National Commission for Women. Over 250 female students from various educational institutions of Jammu region participated. Female participants were from Government College for Women, Parade, Government Degree College, Kathua, Government Degree College, Samba, MIER College of Education and Central University of Jammu. The programme was coordinated by Department of Mass Communication and New Media (MCNM), Department of Social Work and Department of Educational Studies of Central University of Jammu. Theme for third webinar was “Developing Skills for Better Employment Opportunities” which was moderated by Dr Ritu Bakshi, Department of Educational Studies, CUJ. Webinar started with first session on “Stress Management” conducted by Dr Namrata, Assistant Professor, Psychology, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, NIT, Bhopal. She explained the different types of stress in personal and professional life, its symptoms and how one can overcome stress. Second session on “Interview Skills” was delivered by Suparna Kapur, Head placement and training, IMS, Noida. She interacted with the students and focused on the skills that help to crack any interview, mentioning confidence and honesty as key pointers. Last session on “Social Media in career building” was conducted by Dr Shruti Goyal, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi. She emphasized on how social media can help in building professional presence and career building by giving real life examples of female entrepreneurs, who started their career using social media. Theme for fourth webinar was “Possible career options and preparing for them” in which the first session on “Time Management” was conducted by Suneel Vatsayan, Nada India Foundation, New Delhi. He emphasized on prioritizing as key to get things done on time. The second session on “Presentation Skills” was discussed in brief by Zulfkar Ahmad, Bunyaad Foundation, New Delhi. He mentioned all the factors that enhance presentation and public speaking skills. He explained the importance of voice and how students can improvise their speaking abilities. The third session was about “Podcasting as a career”, which was explained by Dr. Sweta Singh, Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, University School of Mass Communication, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She gave a brief lecture on podcast, how it is different from radio and how students can start their career in podcasting. |
